Yabba-Dabba damn it's finally another blog post for you guys. I have

really been struggling to get these out due to my terrible internet connection but I will persevere for my adoring fans (You know who you are).

Today I bring to you an important evolution of my rockery as we get some new plants in to the area. I bought a few bargain plants from B&Q and B&M after extensive rockery research to get some more colour in to the sea of gravel. I bought Dianthus Mojito/Rose Joy, Thyme, Sedum and Campanula. It was quite difficult placing these as without having the rocks you do not have a place of interest for each location. So I just spread them out evenly across the front of the rockery but this design problem further pressed the issue of sourcing some rocks asap.

I also purchased a blackcurrant bush for my veg plot as I want to be able to produce various edibles from my own garden in the coming years. A cherry tree is also on my wish list as it is my mum's name sake and it would be nice to watch it grow with her as she gets older. What has been really great about this year in the garden is that everything is ready for me to just plant and get growing what I want, where I want.

One of the benefits of living in Brighton now was that there is an abundance of beautiful stones on the beach just dying to be sourced by a budding gardener in denial. So on some of my girlfriend and my many trips to the seafront I would collect any big stones that caught my eye and kept them until I could bring them to London. In theory 'great what a money saver', until you realise that stones aren't particularly light and you have to get a train carrying these things somehow. Let's just say that the stones made it to London but my messenger bag had delivered it's last message... "OMFG HELP!!"Sorry mate.

There was still some more painting to be done yet. As we're speaking

of taking stones from Brighton Beach (I'm not a thief honestly). One of the main colours used in Brighton is a duck egg/ turquoise that just screams

Brighton seafront to me anyway. Plus I had grown a soft spot for the colour and the city, so as a sort of homage to the place I lived in I decided to paint my benches that exact colour. I also finished off the paint job on the shed which looked very good if I say so myself.

Now onto the grand finale of this post. Hold onto your seats you crazy cats but we finally got some bloody rocks!! (Hold the applause) ...I found a lovely couple on Gumtree getting rid of 11 good sized granite rocks for only a tenner ...£10!!! (Applaud like hell now). One rock can cost you between 5 - £10 so I was over the moon. Can't ask much better than that so I laid out the rocks around the rockery in the positions I desired and dug the rocks into the soil so they sit firm and snug in situ. This also helps them look more natural rather than just sitting on the ground. Mount Mudmore no more my friends ...welcome to Bedrock!
